Hi, my name is Don Markland. I'm the CEO and founder of AccountabilityNow, the greatest sales, and marketing coaching firm on planet earth. And I get asked this question probably more than anything
"Can anyone learn sales?"
It just takes consistent practice. You have to discipline yourself and practice it over and over and over,
and I'm going to share this with a little metaphor. You see if you've ever known or have been a toddler, you will relate to this metaphor, and that should be all of you. You see when you're, a little toddler and you're learning how to walk, I have no doubt you're going to fall. I know it. You're going to fall a lot.
And those first couple of stumbles you're going to fall over and you would never give up and think, well, there's no way I can do this. There's no way I wasn't just born a natural walker. You're going to pick yourself back up and you're going to try again. . Try again. Or if you have a child and you've watched them fall, when they're a toddler, you don't go over to them and say, well, you're just not a natural walking is just for some people.
No, you'd encourage them. You'd build them up. Cause you know, anybody can do this with practice and sales is the same way and learn how to do it. It is not something that only certain people can do. It is a practiced skill, just like confidence, just like a sport, just like the piano, practice it every day.
