hi, my name is Don Markland. I'm the CEO and founder of AccountabilityNow, the greatest sales and marketing coaching firm on planet earth. And we spend a lot of time in sales because sales solved all sins. It is the greatest thing that'll build your business. And I get asked all the time, Don:
"is cold calling dead?"
and I'm going to tell you and I want you to really lean in here.
The phone is not dead and you should be using it every single day, every single day. And I want you, if you're an entrepreneur, a coach, a realtor, a small business owner, I don't care. Whatever your profession is. Get on the phone and start prospecting. Because this little foundation of prospecting is called your engine work.
It is the foundation of your pipeline. It is how you grow back in the old West and the early 19 hundreds steam engines and cold driven engines drove through the whole United States. It's what powered the industrial revolution. And part of that industrial revolution, they used to shovel coal into those engines and they would shovel coal over and over and over.
And if they wanted to have enough heat to get those engines, to get over those Hills, they had to shovel a lot of coal and they could not stop. Prospecting and cold calling is your coal. You cannot stop doing it. And if you're a small practice of there, one of you call every day. If you have a team of you have them call every day, this will build your future.
The reason people ask the question is cold calling dead is because it's hard and they want to cheat. They want to find an escalator to get to their level of success. There are no escalators. There are no elevators. There's only stairs go up the stairs and you will be rewarded for it.
