hi, my name is Don Markland, the CEO, and founder of AccountabilityNow, the greatest sales and marketing coaching firm on planet earth. And I want to talk to you about sales, but in a very specific way, because people ask me all the time, Don:
"Should I sail to my best friend or my friends in general and folks?"
Should I sell my friends? Absolutely. You should sell to the people that, you know, it is so much easier to sell to people that know you than to perfect strangers. Why would you be selling to people that's never heard of you? They don't trust you. They don't know you at all. You have to build a long-term relationship when they know you.
When they're friends with you, they already trust you. They've already known you for years it's so much easier. Get over yourself, get over the awkwardness and yes, sell to your friends. Now there's a right and a wrong way to do it. Don't come across, you know, annoyingly, don't be in their face and jamming it up all the time.
Of course, go with a give attitude and be friendly about it and serve them. And as you do that, the opportunity to sell to your friends will present itself. That'll work, but don't ever answer this question, no, of should I sell to my friends? I never sell to my friends. You are losing deals. Losing them.
