Accountability Now
Hi, my name is Don Markland. I'm the CEO and founder of AccountabilityNow, the greatest sales, and marketing coaching firm on planet earth. And I want to talk to you about something that comes up all the time. As I work with businesses all over this world, and they're trying to grow and they're trying to grow really quickly.
They ask me, Don:
"What is the key to developing a team?"
Even if you're a solopreneur, you're going to have to work with other people, and as you build your business, you will have to build a team. So what is the key to building that team? And the key to building your team can be really summed up with two simple things.
Number one, you have to align with your culture or your character or your values. And I know that's cliche. And I know that goes on posters and it's over, you know, overused and people roll their eyes at it. But if you aren't aligned on the core principles of the way you believe, the way you act and the way you treat each other and treat your customers, you will fracture as an organization.
You will never scale. And so when you're developing that team and you're bringing them together, you can work through any problem. As long as you align on those core principles. So that's number one. And number two, focus on sales. Everybody on your organization should be focused on sales in some way, from it to accounting, to the actual sales reps, to the CEO.
Everybody knows a company, whether they're you're an electrician, a plumber, a writer, a solopreneur, an internet business. It doesn't matter. Everybody looks at sales every day, because that's what makes the business run. That's the heartbeat. That's what makes it grow. You align those two things.
