Of course, when visitors first arrive at your site and start reading your copy, they probably do not know you and have no reason to trust you. That is why it is so crucial to build your credibility. You MUST explain why you are qualified to help them or solve their problem. That does not necessarily mean official qualifications. It may simple be that you have experience the problem that brought them to your site in the first place, and you found a solution to the problem that you want to share with them! AND you must show that you are just like them. A great way to accomplish this is by telling a story!

What is nearsightedness?

Hi, I'm Dr. Adam Rosa with North Coast Optometry and a question that I get from my patients all the time is "what is nearsightedness?"

Nearsightedness is a condition where people can see easily up close, but have much more difficulty seeing far away. The medical term for nearsightedness is myopia.

According to a recent study done myopia is the most common reason that people wear glasses around the world with over 1.45 billion people diagnosed with myopia every year.

Myopia can also lead to very severe retinal conditions. If it's a high amount of myopia including retinal tears or detachments, glasses can help with the vision part in clearing up the vision at far distances.

In order to check for these health conditions an optometrist or ophthalmologist should perform a health check every year.
